Rinsing You Hair With Apple Cider Vinegar

by admin on April 1, 2011

By now, most people have heard of the incredible benefits of apple cider vinegar.  It can help with any number of problems that can range from weight loss to mosquito bites.  Now, however, it it has been found to be a great hair rinse as well.

For a while it has been known that an apple cider vinegar hair rinse can be used to treat dandruff but has other benefits as well.  Not only does it leave hair with a silky shine but also works to rinse away the build up of conditioners and shampoos.  It can do this because it contains acetic acid.  This also has the effect of balancing the hairs pH level.  Because of the acetic acid, however, you should not use it if you color your hair, it will rinse the coloring away with the build ups.

Down below, I have written two easy apple cider vinegar hair rinse and an herbel  hair rinse. But if you are a type of person who cannot be bothered to make these hair rinse, also check out my all time favorite apple cider vinegar shampoo Morrocco Method Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo, it is all natural and it is color safe so you don’t have to worry about your color fading when using this shampoo.

Basic Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

  1. In to an empty plastic bottle, mix 1/3 of a cup apple cider vinegar with one quart of distilled water.  That is all there is to it
  2. After you shampoo and rinse it is time for the apple cider mixture mix.  Work it in to the hair and let it sit for a few seconds.  Then rinse with cool water.  The cool water will help seal the hair shafts.  Don’t condition or it negates the rinse.  Also, don’t use it every day or the acids will dry out your hair.
  3. Use a towel to dry.  Don’t be concerned about the odor, it will go away as your hair dries, just like hair dye.

Herbal Hair Rinse

  1. Boil one cup of water to infuse your chosen herb.  You can use muslin or tea ball or even just be ready to strain.  Give it 2 hours to infuse fully.
  2. In a glass container add the herbal infusion with 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar.
  3. If this seems like more work than you want to put into it then you can just add a few drops essential oil to the basic herbal mix.  You can lavender, rose, lemon or whatever you like.
